From Fresh to Forever: How We Preserve Your Bridal Bouquet

Updated: Feb 19

So, you just had the most incredible wedding day, and now you’re staring at your gorgeous bouquet, wondering… what now?

You could let it dry out in a vase (but we all know how that ends—crumbled petals all over the place). You could press a few flowers in a book and forget about them until five years later when they fall out. Or… you could have it professionally preserved and turned into a stunning keepsake that lasts forever.

If you’re anything like me, sentimental pieces matter. Your bouquet isn’t just a bunch of flowers—it’s a piece of your love story, something you held in your hands as you walked down the aisle. Lucky for you, I specialize in preserving that moment, so you can keep it forever.

Whether you're in Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, or anywhere along the East Coast, I can help you turn your wedding bouquet into a lasting heirloom. Let me walk you through exactly how this whole process works!

Step 1: Getting Your Bouquet to Me

The first step is getting your bouquet safely into my hands. If you’re local to Maryland or nearby, you can drop it off in person. But if you’re out of state (hello, East Coast brides!), no worries—I’ve got shipping instructions that make it super easy to send your bouquet without stressing.

Quick tip: Keeping your bouquet hydrated before shipping (like wrapping the stems in damp paper towels and sealing them in a plastic bag) helps keep it looking fresh when it arrives.

Once I receive your bouquet, I treat it like the VIP it is! I take photos to capture every detail before the preservation process begins. Then, I carefully take it apart, flower by flower, and prep it for pressing.

OUR PRESSING PROCESS BEGINS WITH LOTS OF PAPER TO KEEP YOUR FLOWERS DRY!

Step 2: Pressing the Flowers

Not all flowers press the same way, and this is where my expertise comes in. Roses? They need to be deconstructed petal by petal. Delicate blooms like anemones? They press beautifully as-is. Each flower is handled with care to ensure it dries in the most beautiful way possible.

Pressing takes time—about 6-8 weeks, depending on the flowers. It’s kind of like waiting for your wedding photos—you want them fast, but you also want them to be perfect.

And color correction? Yep, that’s a thing. Flowers change as they dry, and I make subtle adjustments to keep them looking as close to their original beauty as possible. The goal is to create a keepsake that still feels like your bouquet. We can enhance those tricky all-white flowers and keep them looking bright.

Step 3: Designing Your Keepsake

Once your flowers are pressed and fully dried, it’s time for the fun part—creating your custom design! I carefully arrange your flowers in a way that captures the feel of your original bouquet, whether you want a natural, flowing design or a more structured, symmetrical look. I also help you choose a frame style and background that matches your home’s aesthetic and your personal style.

Want to add in your wedding invitation, a special note, or a ribbon from your bouquet? I can totally make that happen. Each piece is 100% unique to you. That's what makes our service so special. Each piece is created by hand to create something that reflects your unique story.

Step 4: The Final Reveal – Your Bouquet, Forever.

Once your design is complete, your preserved bouquet is framed, sealed, and ready to ship back to you! This is the best part—opening up your finished piece and seeing your bouquet in its new forever form. I can’t tell you how many brides say unboxing their preserved bouquet feels just as exciting as opening a wedding gift! Some display it in their bedroom, others in their living room, and some even create a mini gallery wall with their wedding photos. And if you want to take it one step further, I also create pressed flower jewelry—so you can wear a little piece of your wedding day wherever you go.

Why Preserve Your Bouquet?

Bridal bouquet preservation is more than just saving flowers—it’s about keeping a piece of your wedding day alive. Your dress will get tucked away, your cake will be long gone (unless you’re brave enough to eat that freezer slice on your anniversary!), but your bouquet? It can stay front and center, a daily reminder of your love story.

If you’re a bride anywhere along the East Coast—whether in Maryland, D.C. or Virginia I’d love to help you preserve your bouquet and turn it into a timeless keepsake.
